October First Thursday
The night was eventful, exciting, and full of debate; well the debate was on TV. :) Our band was a local indie/rock group named Norman. They excited the crowd with fun tunes and a banjo based experience. The fabulous artists Dan Ness was in the building. His featured pieces were paintings of escalators, two phenomenal pieces. If you can make an escalator exciting to look at, you’re talented. Dan’s art work will be up the entire month of October.
We brought another mix to the party, a fundraiser for Mercy Corp, through voices for silent disasters. It’s Portland’s annual humanitarian concert series for Mercy Corps. All the money we raised from bar tips and other donations were given to Mercy Corps.
Having a charitable event or a fundraiser will be a monthly thing for First Thursdays.
Widmer was at it again, letting everyone know how fun it is to shop when you’re drinking. Haha. As always, we thank Widmer for sponsoring our events. It doesn’t get much better than your choice of Hefeweizen or Drop Top.
Just to let you all know, we do First Thursday events every month. RAIN OR SHINE!
